Medicare Advantage Plans, or Part C, are run by private insurance companies but approved by Medicare. Arizona Medicare Advantage plans provide all of Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B and often Medicare Part D benefits. If you choose a Medicare Advantage plan, you do not need to buy Medicare Supplemental Insurance. Medicare Part C is a lower cost alternative to the original Medicare plan and offers more benefits.

Supplemental Medicare Plans, also known as Medigap Plans are additional government approved plans in addition to the original Part A and Part B that are provided by the private health insurance companies. To receive the benefits of a Supplemental Medicare plan, eligible Medicare applicants must also enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B.

Prescription Drug Coverage plans are available as either part of a Medicare Advantage Plan, or as Part D drug coverage plans.

Medicaid, also known as AHCCCS in Arizona, is available to some eligible Medicare recipients. Those with dual enrollment in both Medicare and Medicaid have most out-of-pocket Medicare expenses paid by Medicaid.

  • Medicare Part C: Advantage Plans
    Part C is a Medicare Advantage Plan. It combines Part A and Part B and in some instances, it also combines Part D. Medicare Part C plans are privately managed by insurance companies approved by Medicare. The plans cover necessary medical services, although, these plans have co-payments, coinsurance, and deductibles that can vary.


  • Medicare Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage
    Part D provides assistance covering prescription drugs. The coverage will vary depending on the plan, but it may help lower your prescription drug costs and help prevent high costs in the future.


  • Medicare Part F: Supplement Plan
    Part F is a Medicare Supplement Plan that offers little or no out-of-pocket expense or risk.


  • Medicare Part G: Supplement Plan
    Part G is a Medicare Supplement Plan that offers little out-of-pocket expense or risk, although it is higher than Part F, but at a lower additional cost.


  • Medicare Part K: Supplement Plan
    Part K is a Medicare Supplement Plan that offers more out-of-pocket costs at a lower price.


  • Medicare Part L: Supplement Plan
    Part L is a Medicare Supplement Plan that offers more out-of-pocket costs at a lower price.


  • Medicare Part M: Supplement Plan
    Part M is a Medicare Supplement Plan that offers more out-of-pocket costs at a lower price.


  • Medicare Part N: Supplement Plan
